OCD And Sad News

Written on May 5, 2020   By   in Videos

Hello everyone and welcome,
Today I am posting another video about Tyler Falcoa’s struggle with mental illness. It was made by Mitch Francis and do check out his YouTube Channel for more amazing videos.

This short film is about Tyler talking about his life with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). You will see a glimpse into his own chaotic little world and by looking at this video, you will see what it’s like living with OCD. The reason for all of this is, Tyler is hoping others suffering from OCD won’t feel so alone and to no longer suffer in silence. It’s very straightforward and informative, so please, do watch it…
I’ve read this online which is very interesting, “There are numerous obsessions and compulsions that people with OCD experience and here they are defined:
1. Contamination (fear of dirt, germs, viruses, chemicals etc…)
2. Fear of harm (doors not being locked, cooker left on)
3. Extreme concern for symmetry and order
4. Obsessions with the physical body and symptoms
5. Religious, sacrilegious or blasphemous thoughts
6. Sexual obsessions (e.g. homosexuality or paedophilia)
7. Thoughts of violence and aggression (e.g. stabbing your own child)
1. Checking (taps, gas, cooker etc…)
2. Cleaning, washing, showering
3. Repetitive acts
4. Mental compulsions (saying special words to cancel out thoughts, saying prayers, repeated in set manners)
5. Ordering, symmetry, exactness
6. Hoarding/Collecting

Let’s stop the stigma against individuals with mental illness. Be proud of who you are and let’s all work towards a change in attitude towards mental health. So go ahead and talk to family members and friends about it because that one conversation could probably save someone’s life.
Inside My Head – O.C.D

Very sad news in the entertainment world. John Lafia, who co-wrote the screenplay for Child’s Play (1988) and directed Child’s Play 2 (1990), passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2020. He is the one who came up with the idea of calling this doll “Chucky” and the famous saying, “Hi, I’m Chucky, wanna play?” His contribution to the entertainment industry was immense and popular. Warm tributes were paid to John Lafia for the past few days, with Don Mancini describing him as, “He was an incredibly generous artist and one of the most naturally curious and constantly creative people, someone who was always taking pictures and jotting down ideas.” He brought so much to the world and will forever be etched in our memories. He will be missed but he will always be with us as he continues to inspire generations for years to come. We will always remember the legacy he left behind.
